How to Wear Nipple Covers Seamlessly
Blog written by B-Six.
We’re going to be bold here and say what everyone is thinking: bras kinda suck. From underwire bras to bralettes, bras can get uncomfortable, sweaty, and can even cause back acne if we don’t wash them enough.
It doesn’t help that summer is coming! We can’t get comfy in the heat with a bulk bra on, now can we? So…what the hell are we supposed to do?
Get some nipple covers, that’s what! Check the fads, folks - the era of the bra is over, and the light and free revolution of bralessness is finally here.
While no one should feel like they need to cover their nipples, some of us can get a little shy about it, some of us just don’t want to deal, and some of us don’t want our sensitive nipples to get chafed in tight clothing - all of these points are fair, and all of them are solved by these game-changing boob pasties.
If you’re new to the game, B-Six is about to hook you up - we’ll go over how to wear them, when to wear them, and how often to wear them. By the end, you’re sure to be a pasty professional.
Let’s start with a little more hype-up for these quality covers:
Why Wear Nipple Covers?
Oh, man. So many reasons. To save time, here are just a few:
- They are perfect for tight dresses and clothing
- They are so, so much more comfortable than a bra
- They are ideal for backless dresses and shirts
- They stop any and all nipple chafing
…And those are just the few reasons we thought of just now. There are so many more!
How Do Nipple Covers Work?
Before we get into this, it’s important to distinguish all the different types of nip covers out there (there are more than you think!)
As the name suggests, these kinds of covers work by sticking to your skin (so you have to make sure your skin is clean and dry). They stick a little better than non-adhesive reusable pasties and don’t require a bralette to keep them in place, but they don’t last quite as long. These B-Six silicone boob pasties are perfect for a night out or a day that requires a lot of consistent movement - they’re skin-safe, provide a seamless, undetectable coverage, have a light-reflection shield (so they don’t show up in selfies), and come in different colors to match your skin tone. Honestly ideal to have around.
Non-adhesives are ideal for when you want to wear a bralette that is just a little too thin. Like their adhesive counterparts, the B-Six non-adhesive silicone nip covers are also skin safe, come in multiple colors and sizes, and even include a storage case! These are great for see-through bralettes, thin bras, or sports bras that don’t quite cover enough.
A little more lightweight than silicone nipple covers, these fabric covers are disposable, waterproof, and perfect for when you want to go braless but don’t need any added support. They’re 1 time use only, but so worth it.
We have a bunch that are super cute - they come in creme, caramel, black, sequin gold, rainbow, and so many more colors, and come in heart or cross shapes! They’re so stylish, you can honestly just wear them without a shirt if you want to. If you’re not about that, though, they make for a great fashion piece.
4. Lifting Nipple Covers
Lifting covers are a little more hardcore, and are specifically designed to give you optimal support (and a little extra cleavage)! They’re amazing for low cut dresses and shirts, backless outfits, and can be used multiple times (if cared for properly).
How to Wear Nipple Covers
Using our reusable pasties is super easy! All it takes is 3 steps to apply nipple covers:
Step 1: Prep Your Skin
Ensure your skin is both clean and dry. For adhesives, the cleaner and dryer it is, the longer your pasty will last! For non-adhesives, this is essential to keep your nip covers clean.
Step 2: Remove the Sheet
All of the B-Six’s silicone nipple covers come with a reusable sheet to keep your pasty clean and sticky (if adhesive). Be sure not to throw the sheet away if you have a reusable silicone pasty, as you can reuse it to keep your covers clean for use in the future.
Step 3 (Adhesive): Apply
Find the best coverage area for you, press on your cover, and hold it there for at least 5 seconds to ensure it stays.
Step 3 (Non-Adhesive): Add to Bra
If you’re wearing a non-adhesive nip cover that isn’t going directly onto your skin, skip the first 2 steps. All you’ll need to do is slide it right into your bra or bralette and you’re ready to go!
We’ve heard your questions, and we’re covering the most commonly asked ones here!
How Long Can You Wear Nipple Covers?
Our adhesive reusable pasties can be used over 20-30 times, for up to 12 hours at a time before they start to lose their stickiness - so you should be able to get everything you need out of them! Our non-adhesives last even longer, as long as you keep them clean.
Both can be washed without issue!
Are B-Six Nipple Pasties Reusable?
Our silicone nipple covers are reusable! They’re designed to be used and reused multiple times, so long as they’re cared for correctly (the sheet is reattached and they are put in their tray). Our fabric covers, however, only work for about 1 use - but they’re waterproof and last for up to 12 hours!
You’ve learned it all - how to wear nipple covers, when you may need them, and why you need some in your wardrobe. We can’t think of anything else to tell you, so it’s time to leave the fashion nest and get some nipple covers that will make your look stand out.
